Really the best phone i've ever had. Would have givin it 6 stars if it came with bluetooth, a longer lasting battery, and a camera that's built in. Hey it's 2004, thats the type of things we'd expect from a high quality phone. Overall the active sync works perfectly. And yes, it does ring and vibrate and the keys do light up. This phone gives the power of a windows desktop in the palm of your hand. The fact that i can walk down the street with my cell phone playing mp3s on stereo headsets. That's great! Truly a wonderful phone.

I'd been waiting for this phone now for ages. Something small, with great functionality, mp3, bluetooth, a camera perhaps and a great screen. Today the mpx200 was released in the UK and off I went to buy mine. Luckily I put it through its paces before the deal was done, and I'm very gald I did. This phone contains so many oversights and basic omissions, its a wonder it ever made it to production. It cant ring and vibrate (you have to set it to one or the other). It doesnt do caller ID on the external screen. No bluetooth. No camera. It crawls at snails pace (on a brand new phone fresh out of the box, so no excuses about it being loaded to the hilt!). It has cheap plastic covers over the interfaces (usb/sd/mmc/headphone), one of which just fell straight off. The keys aren't even backlit so dont think of using it at night! As for the plastic its made from, within seconds it looked grubby and I couldn't seem to clean it very easily. I'm sad to say I left the store very disappointed. Moto seem to have missed far too many thing on this phone that should have been resolved, a shame because with just a few tweaks this could have been great.

Worth the wait

I heard about the collaboration between Microsoft, Motorola and AT&T Wireless a couple of years ago, and waited patiently until it came to fruition. I tend to get a new phone every 9 months when the latest and greatest comes onto the market. I got the MPx200 a couple of weeks ago and I can tell you, it was worth the wait. Not only is it the best phone Motorola has produced, having owned several Motorola's as well as Nokia, Sony-Ericsson and Panasonic, but it is the best phone AT&T Wireless has carried in my opinion. The ability to customize it, is only limited to your imagination and ability to work with microsoft based software, as the software is upgradeable and if you are able to write programs that are used in the smartphone/pda language, the uses are limitless, especially with the 1GB expansion card. If you are thinking of getting this phone, stop thinking and get it.
