Ok i got this phone last year. Within that year i have went through 5 faceplates, and 2 ringers. If you are an abusive person toward this phone do not get it. It also would drop calls all the time and shut off for absolutly no reason. My advice its get something else cuz this thing is silicone shit

1.0/5.01.0/5.01.0/5.01.0/5.01.0/5.0   keypad problems
Reviewer: Anonymous from wisconsin     October 09, 2004
I had a couple of problems with the Nokia 3585. I had problems with the key pad buttons not working. I dropped it once on the ground, and it suddendly got no reception. I sent it in to the company, (under warrenty) and they still did not fix the key pad problem. 100% junk.
I was a nokia fan up until this line of crap came out of there factory.

4.0/5.04.0/5.04.0/5.04.0/5.04.0/5.0   For the price, This phone rocks!
Reviewer: thematrixrel0aded@hotmail.com from Dunlap, TN     January 26, 2004
This phone rocks. The lighting is one of it's best features. The reception here proves considerably great, considering that this area isn't covered by Sprint, or Verizon. I almost always get 6 of the 7 bars of reception. The 30 preloaded ringtones are okay, but I wish I could find somewhere that sends you PolyTones through SMS for FREE. (If anyone can tell me this info, e-mail me at: TheMatrixRel0aded@hotmail.com, or IM me on AIM: SuperMario1024). No one supports my provider: Simple Freedom Digital Wirelsss. And the only other way to get PolyTones is to buy the DKU-5 Data Cable for $37 at the cheapest on a "cables" website. Other than those setbacks this phone proves worthy without having to be in color, OR have logos. Besides, All that stuff just adds to the one reason we bought the phone. TO TALK ON IT, not to play games, or have a cool wallpaper, or send picture messages, or take pictures, or anything else wasting wireless waves!

3.0/5.03.0/5.03.0/5.03.0/5.03.0/5.0   Ehhh, it's "ok"...
Reviewer: Anonymous from Florida     October 12, 2003
I miss my Nokia 3390. **sniffle** I only switched to 3585 because not only was it roughly the same size as the 3390, but mostly because my new provider would charge a flat $35 rate per month for unlimited talking time compared to my (then current)provider, charging me a $19.95/month for "only a handful of minutes" plan. The battery sucks on 3585. I would suggest getting a duo charger (charges a spare battery and your phone w/ battery inside it at the same time), and of course, a spare battery. On 3390, it lasted at least a week w/o having to be charged. I think the best thing on the 3585 phone is that the sides of it light up. If you have one of those purses where it doesn't have a special cell-phone compartment on the outside of it, and your phone gets lost in the bottom of your bag, it lights up when it rings so you can find it. It has also come in handy as a flashlight for when I can't see to put my key in my car door (or ignition). The reception's "mediocre," but I guess that goes for any cell phone. But like someone else mentioned, check with your provider to make sure they don't gyp you out of web or text messaging. My current provider wants to charge a flat rate per month for unlimited calling (which is a good thing), but then they charge you extra $/month for text messaging, and extra again for voicemail, and extra for insurance... and they don't even offer wireless internet, which the phone is set up for!! Then they want to charge you $3 for going into the store location to pay your bill (on time, or not). Or you can use a credit card, and pay your bill for free. Or they can charge you $1 to pay your bill if they have to send you an e-mail reminder. IT SUCKS!! My advise? Choose ANY phone BUT the 3585. It's also really hard to find ringtones, and accessories for the 3585, unless you want to pay through the nose. Plus, you can't download those cute little logos or games for the 3585 either. The volume on the 3585 sucks too. I'm constantly saying, "huh? and "what?!" and asking people to speak up. (Can ya hear me now?! LOL) On my old 3390, that wasn't a problem. A jackhammer could be going off in the background, and I'd hear my caller perfectly fine. It's also hard to hear a 3585 cell phone ringing with the cheesy ringtones it has on it. I think the only decent ones are "Espionage, Chill, and Tapdance." Anyway, 3390 was loud enough to wake the dead, and it had cool ringtones on it too. If you're looking for a cell phone w/ excellent reception in a small package, just save yourself the heartache and get a Nokia 3390.

4.0/5.04.0/5.04.0/5.04.0/5.04.0/5.0   Its a strong long lasting phone Great for a teenager!
Reviewer: Anonymous from West Virginia     October 09, 2003
I am on the go alot and I always seem to get reception everywere. I also am always droping my phone and I have had no problems with it unlike my other phone that I had. (Which lasted three days.) I have even dropped it a sink full of water at work and it still is working. So if you are tough on a phone I suggest you get this phone. (3585)
