I like my phone :) It was free! It's true it gets warm and isn't loud, but it's a nice little unit with good features and easy to use menus.

Hot, Quiet, Hung, Battery
|

I've had the phone for 2-months.
Hot: This phone gets hot. Possibly some aluminum foil between the face and phone would help. Bonus: May help the reception.
Quiet: Along with the aluminum foil, I need to add duct tape. I can't hear the ringer unless I strap it to my head. Set to Level 5 (Highest) just hope you are in a library when the call comes in. Vibrate isn't noticeable either. Samsung said there is nothing I can do about this issue......but......you guessed it.......upgrade my phone. Bonus: I got to talk with a cheery representative.
Hung: With the use of the aluminum foil and tape, how can I perform the technically advanced reset procedure? The phone hangs. I have to remove/reinsert the battery to free it up. Bonus: Something to keep my hands/toes busy.
Well here's a pro. The battery life will ease the pain. After three days in standbye, the battery is dead and allows you to quit wondering if you are getting a call.

Don't consider the A310

I upgraded to the A310 and this was no UPGRADE!! The phone gets hot and then freezes up. Plus there are no options available for this phone (ringtones, lighted antena, etc). Also, the reception is horrible. I wish I could get a refund to purchase a different phone. If your considering this phone...RESEARCH your other options first!

this was a good phone for the first few weeks, then i noticed after talking to people for more than 15 min. it would get hot, it is annyoing because it startles you when you put it up to your face, i would recommend the LG VX10 instead of this phone, it is much more durable and more for adults than the samsung, the ring tones are made for little kids and you can barely hear them, as for vibrate, that is low also, i was very disapointed after a few weeks with this, DON'T GET IT!!

Dropped calls galore

I got this phone as an "upgrade" from my 4 year old Motorola Startac and it's far from an upgrade. I travel quite a bit in areas with only analogue service and this phone simply can't grasp the concept of analogue roaming. I wound up having so much trouble with dropped calls in rural areas that I had Verizon turn my Startac back on and put this phone in a drawer for posterity.

This phone sucks

I don't care too much about phones. Just need something that is functional and small. But this phone has just been a headache. It gets hot after about 1 minute of talking and it actually makes me queasy...wouldn't be surprised if it is giving off radiation or something. The ringers suck...sound isn't great. Really not much going for it other than it looks slick and is light. Like the game push too. I already asked for a replacement because mine was getting so hot. The replacement seems to get even hotter

I don't use my cell phone very much, so the A310 would be great if not for one drawback....I can't hear the blasted thing ring half the time! I'll be sitting in my house and hear the voicemail chime clear as bell, but not the ringer that obviously preceded it! And I have the ringer volume set to its highest level.
Would new software help this?

Okay, so its obvious it doesnt have great ringtones...so what??!?! its just a phone!! For you picky people out theyre, if this is such a horrible thing to you go get the new version downloaded at your local verizon wireless store (Version:VL17). So anyways I like this phone. Very easy to use, battery always lasts a good 4 days for me with no recharging, i always have clear calls and i always have service, its a nice, small, simple phone. Easy to use, and good looking. Very durible as well, i have put my phone threw hell and back again, and it is still working just like the day i got it. The over heating issue has never been a problem, ya it gets warm (never hott) only after u have been on it for 30 minutes strait! seriously people, who has 30 minute phone calls? and find me one phone that doesnt get warm when you use it for that long, ill give you a million dollars....I like this phone, I would recomend it to parents to give to theyre teens. or buy it yourself, you get a very nice durible phone for very cheap.
