After being with Nextel for over two years, I wanted more features than any of their phones could offer. I was also in the market for a PDA. I was leaning towards Verizon, but I thought the i600 would be way too big. It's not. It's actually smaller than my top of the line Nextel. It syncs with my Outlook (calendar, contacts, tasks, and e-mail), voice recognition (for all names, not just a few), internet, text messaging, instant messaging, and Windows Media player for video and music. It also has a speakerphone so you can talk and look at your calendar, etc., without going back and forth from your ear.
Now for the drawbacks - all ringers you want to add are wav format - not mp3. The ringer only adjusts from "normal" to "loud" settings - nothing in between. There's no "get it now" with Verizon for the i600, either. You can buy all kinds of games and software, but you have to purchase it with a credit card rather than have it added to your bill. The voice recognition works pretty well unless you have loads of contacts in your phone. Personally, I have about 350 contacts and often, I have difficulty with names that are similar. It does have a training feature, but I saw little improvement after training the phone.
Overall, the i600 is the best phone I've ever seen or used and I love it. It really does just about everything I could ask of it in a light, compact body.
