3 weeks after my year-long warranty expired, the phone broke...conversation would fade in and out, i couldn't dial unless i squeezed the phone with my other hand...i got a replacement and so far (it's been about 4 months) i haven't had any problems...
but when the phone was working (and with my current one) the reception is usually better than most people i am with.

I bought this phone when I switched over from AT&T Wireless to Verizon Wireless. I upgrade from an old model Ericson that had a 2 line screen, so the high quality (at the time) screensavers and graphics of this phone were very refreshing.
The phone has good features, like the calculator that I found handy and the alram function that I used to help wake me up for classes. It has a handful of OK games and a planner function that I never used as well.
My main problems with this phone stem from its seeming very poor build quality. I got my first phone in August of '02 and I had to bring it in for repair at my local Verizon outlet because the mocrophone just stopped working. I didn't drop it or anything, it just cut out practically in the middle of a conversation and never worked again. Also the backlight was always set to be on only when the flip is open, and yet before I brought it (not always, just when the MIC went) the backlight on the screen would stay on even when the phone was closed.
Needless to say I took it to the Verizon outlet and they didn't have any parts for it since they had discontinued the model, so they cantacted the factory and had them send me a new one FedEx (got it the next day Verizon rocks :). This was back in the middle of January '03.
Its now august, and the day of my 1 year anniversary with Verizon, my replacement phone.. a new Sealed in box direct from the factory replacement phone, started having the same problems my first phone had. The MIC went and the backlight wouldn't turn off. Of course I discover this as I am trying to call my mom to bring me my spare car keys to wrok so I can drive my car home (don't ask).
The main reason my mom got me a cell phone was in case I had car problems or was in an accident or something. One time I try to use it for just that occasion it stops working. The reliability for this phone is horrible.
I can see one dying oddly, but TWO PHONE failing in the EXACT SAME WAY?! Now I know why Verizon discontinued the phone only 6 months after I bought it.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS PHONE!
