I have 3 people in my plan w AT&T and we have the Samsung x426. We all love it. No phone is perfect and the main problem for me with this phone is the earpiece, which I had replaced a few times. Most problems with phones is the networks, not the phones themselves. Other than that I like it a lot, it is loud, clear, no problems. I heard that some batches of these phones had a wrong code set inside from the factory, we did return them to Samsung at the begining and they came back working great. Maybe that is why they don't work for some people. Contact Samsung and they will pay for the shipping and all. Another thing, Unlock phones work a lot better,, so try that when you have problems with drop calls.

I got this samsung in jan of 05 and i thought the looks of it was great so i got it, biggest mistake of my life. It acts up so much 95% of the time it doesnt even work, i had to trade it in for a new one in may of 2005 and a monthe later i am switching back to nokia. here's the things it does to me, 1. drops call's(i can walk to my phone company's tower it's not even 4 blocks away from my house) 2. when i call people i only hear static i have to hang up on them and call again, then i can barly hear them it sounds like i am talking to a fax machine also. 3. it freez's and i loose everything 4. i dont get half my text message's and when i do the next day i get the same one AGAIN and my text sometimes don't even go threw. 5. the screen sometimes doesn't even turn on 6. just almost like number 1 my phone loose's signal when my mom's NOKIA doesnt. 7. my ear peice doesn't work (on both of the phones i owned of this model) 8. the person i am talking to thinks i am yelling at them when i am not and i cant even hear them half the time. If anyone is reading this before buying beware because i know others that have the same problems with there samsung x426. I have many more issue's with this phone but it would take to much of you day.

If you're always on the highway then this phone is great. But do you live on the highway too?
1) Once you buy the phone and then want to use it at home the signal is horrible. Want to add an external antenna - bamm - there's a jack - but quoting Samsung - this voids your warranty. 2) AT&T forces your phone to use both 850 MHz and 1900 MHz bands - the antenna is optimized for one band - phone CANNOT deselect or use only one band. 3) Samsung allows the network selection on the phone to be overridden by AT&T - yes you can manually change it - 30 seconds later it changes back 4) More than half the time calls are drpoped and the phone DOESN'T make its audible sound telling you that. Annoying.
Moral of story - Get a single band phone not GSM.

I hate my cell phone. I can barely hear on it unless I have an earplug. Hard as heck to find ringtones without it costing you an arm and a leg. Bad as far as dropping calls. It's cool though if you want something that has internet access or a lot of gadgets. But I'd go back to nokia any day.
