A GREAT Phone for BASIC use

I've had this phone for approximately 8 months -- it has never smoked or vibrated while charging, (like the previous reviewer -- leads me to believe that he got his phone -- possibly refurbished to begin with) -- somewhere other than a reliable Spring/Samsung dealer! Had he taken it to a Sprint dealer, it would've been replaced with a BRAND-NEW one, or a completely different phone. Don't let his review scare you away from this phone.
The charge lasts almost an entire week for me -- only turning it off during the night.
Easy-peasy, plain & simple, fun to use for the basics -- like actually making and receiving phone calls!
Nice, bright color display, easy to use for the beginner or someone who doesn't need a lot of "bells & whistles" (like me!).
Picture quality stinks -- although I have a super digital camera for that purpose!

I just recently upgraded to this phone from another model of Samsung. I have found that is pretty decent so far. The only complaint that I have is that the external LCD light does not stay on that long, and when it blacks out you can't see a thing. It does have a setting where you are suppose to be able to adjust it to stay on longer, but it doesn't make a difference. Also, the camera... the picture quality is less than desireable. You have to really play with the setting to get a decent picture. On the up side, this phone does have a rather large memory for downloading things like ringtones, screensavers, and games. And there are alot of sites that offer reasonably priced subscriptions for downloads that are compatible with this phone. The overall layout is very user friendly. It accesses the web quickly, and also downloads fast. Come to think of it, it is also quick when sharing pictures. The reception is pretty good. ( I placed a few calls and maintained them while in tunnels) I haven't had any real problems so far. Good buy, Samsung has not let me down yet!

All features work as advertised; Voice Dial cmds are useful & easy to use. Camera is easy & fun tool. Web access works well (better than AT&T GSM by Long Shot). Only draw back is Txt Msg-g, not a true SMS which is much quicker and easier.

This phone is the biggest dissapointment yet from Samsung. I have had 3 burn out so far.....all within 3 weeks of purchase! It smoked when being charged, it vibrated when being charged, but alas, wouldn't keep a charge more than 3 hours. Good Old Sprint replaces it with another re-conditioned one (apparently there are a lot being returned) but each one is a piece of crap in it's own special way. Sprint & Samsung.......a perfect combination.
